Disturbed Asbestos? Start Here.

A contractor cut into the ceiling. A DIY demo went too far. A fire or burst pipe tore open old materials. Take a breath — this is solvable. Stop the work, keep everyone out, and call.

Emergency calls prioritizedRush & same-day lab resultsNo judgment — just next steps

Do these 5 things right now

Stop the work

No more cutting, scraping, drilling or demo in that area.

Keep people out

Close the door. Don't walk debris through the building.

Don't vacuum

Household and shop vacs pass fibers straight through. Leave dust where it is.

Kill the HVAC

Turn off fans and air movers serving the area. Moving air moves fibers.

Common scenarios we respond to

🔨

Contractor cut into the ceiling

Remodel crew disturbed old texture before testing. Stop the room, isolate it, rush-test the material.

🏠

DIY demo went too far

Pulled up flooring, scraped a ceiling, sledged a wall. It happens constantly — no judgment, just action.

💧

Fire or water exposed old materials

Stable materials made friable by damage. We coordinate with restoration companies for sequenced cleanup.

How we respond

Triage call

What material, how much, what happened. Determines phone guidance vs. truck today.

Priority mobilization

Emergency calls jump the schedule. We assess and isolate the area properly.

Rush testing

Same-day and next-day lab analysis available. No waiting 5 days with an open kitchen.

Controlled cleanup

If positive: containment, HEPA cleanup, abatement at $8–$20/sq ft of affected area.

Documentation

Lab results, scope, closeout — for your insurer, contractor, or future sale.

Emergency pricing: priority/evening/weekend adds 25–50% to standard rates. We'll tell you the modifier before we roll. If it can safely wait for a regular slot, we'll say so. Standard rates on our pricing page.

What NOT to do while you wait

🚫 Don't finish the demo

"Since it's already open" — every additional cut multiplies the affected area.

🚫 Don't bag or move debris

Moving it spreads it. Leave everything exactly where it fell.

🚫 Don't run fans

Moving air moves fibers from one room to the whole house.

🚫 Don't assume it's fine

Asbestos has no smell and no immediate symptoms. Dust can't be judged by eye.

And don't panic-buy a full abatement either. Testing comes first — plenty of emergency calls end with a negative result and a relieved homeowner.

Emergency questions, answered fast

I already swept or vacuumed. What now?

Stop there. The vacuum and cleaned path become part of the assessment. Tell us exactly what was used — it's recoverable with the right cleanup plan.

I only drilled one hole. Is that an emergency?

Rarely a whole-house crisis, but material and dust should be evaluated before more work. Response may be as small as localized controlled cleanup.

The HVAC was running. Does the whole house need cleaning?

Not automatically. Depends on what was disturbed and where returns/supplies sit. We evaluate pathways and recommend targeted cleaning — not a reflexive whole-home teardown.

Can you get same-day results?

Rush and same-day lab analysis available for emergencies at an added per-sample fee. We'll give you an honest ETA on the first call.
